I was raised in a Christian home and trusted Christ as my Savior when I was 6 years old. When I was 15 I was called to preach at a missions conference after a message from Clayton Shumpert.
I attended Pensacola Christian College and graduated with a Bachelor of Bible degree in 2005.
Since college I have served as a youth leader and a pastor. It was while serving as a pastor in Harwinton, CT that God called me to serve Him on the mission field in Honduras. In 2012 I resigned the pastorate and began full time deputation.
God has allowed me to form GO Honduras where I serve as President.
God has been so good and faithful through mountaintops and through valleys. One of the deepest valleys was in January of 2019 when my wife of 9 years left me. Nothing could have shattered me more and I am amazed at the grace of God helping me move forward.
I am thankful to be the father of three wonderful children, Charlotte('12), Clara('15) and Blake('18).
I am grateful everyday that I can serve God in whatever capacity I am able. I believe with all my heart Go Honduras is the place God has me. I believe in the call of God and I stand behind the work in Honduras.
Many people visit each year and know personally what God is doing in Lejamani, Comayagua. We are seeing people saved, baptized, and the local church growing.
In 2019 I turned the church in Honduras over to Edwin Perez. He is a Honduran National and has done an exceptional job.
We also have Honduran staff living on our property. This family has been a huge help in providing accountability, friendship, and maintenance on the GO Honduras campus.
Please take time to read what people who have been touched by our ministry have said.
Please pray for me and the ministry of GO Honduras. God is faithful!
In His Service,
Chris Birkholz
