We are excited to share an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of our community in Honduras! GO Honduras is embarking on an important project: building *Comedor Mercy* (CM), an evangelistic feeding center that will serve not only as a place of nourishment but as a beacon of hope and love in Christ.
This new pavilion and kitchen will provide struggling families in our community with hot meals and essential food staples like rice and beans. But beyond filling empty stomachs, each meal will be an opportunity to share the Gospel. Every adult and child who comes to *Comedor Mercy* will hear a clear, compassionate presentation of the Good News of Jesus Christ, with access to tracts and Bibles.
Our vision is to create a space that seats 100 people, with a kitchen that can handle this demand. In addition to feeding families, *Comedor Mercy* will house a small store, or “pulpería,” where we can offer basic supplies, snacks, and drinks. This will not only serve the community but also provide jobs for some in our ministry.
To make this vision a reality, we need your help. Our goal is to raise $40,000, and we are reaching out to you—churches and individuals—to be a part of this life-changing project. Here is how you can partner with us:
- 15 churches giving $2,000 each = $30,000
- 5 churches giving $1,000 each = $5,000
- 4 individuals giving $500 each = $2,000
- 20 individuals giving $100 each = $2,000
- 20 individuals giving $50 each = $1,000
We aim to begin construction in the spring of 2025. Would you prayerfully consider making a one-time gift to help us meet this goal? Your generosity will not only provide physical nourishment but will open hearts to the life-changing message of Christ.
Thank you for being a vital part of this ministry and for standing with us as we take this exciting step of faith.
With gratitude,
Christopher Birkholz

The name *Comedor Mercy* carries a deep and personal significance for us. It is a tribute to a remarkable young woman named Mercy, whom we met years ago at a children’s home in another part of Honduras. Mercy and her sister Meydi were inseparable, sharing an unbreakable bond as they navigated the harsh realities of a difficult family life—struggles that so many in Honduras endure daily.
Mercy loved her family and found joy in music. One of her favorite songs was “He Knows My Name,” which she learned from American missionaries. It was a beautiful reminder to her, and to us, that despite her hardships, God saw her and loved her. As a child, Mercy placed her trust in Jesus as her Savior. Although her life was filled with challenges, her love for her family and for Christ never wavered.
Tragically, Mercy’s life was cut short by an act of violence. She was taken from this world in a drive-by shooting—a heartbreaking loss that reflects the dangers so many young people in Honduras face every day.
We want to name this dining hall *Comedor Mercy* in her honor, knowing that countless children and families in Honduras endure similar struggles—broken homes, abuse, and violence. Through this center, our deepest desire is to offer more than just physical nourishment. We want to introduce them to a Savior who knows them by name, who loves them unconditionally, and who offers them hope and a new life.
In honoring Mercy, we are reminded of the love and grace of Christ, who reaches into the darkest places to offer healing, hope, and redemption. It is our prayer that *Comedor Mercy* will be a place where broken lives are restored, where the hungry are fed, and where the love of Jesus transforms hearts.
